This programme is aimed at the development of marketable competencies in Logistics and Supply Chain Management for unemployed men and women and is open to recipients of Jobseekers Allowance/Benefits in Ireland. Career Development with Certificate in Logistics is a fully sponsored Training & Education Programme under the Labour Market Activation Fund, 2010.
Logistics is the logical sequencing of activities and tasks to optimise time, human resources, and financial resources for more efficient operational performance, customer satisfaction and improved profits.
Supply Chain Management encompasses efficient Logistics and additionally, is the strategic use of internal and external resources to achieve innovative and profitable partnerships for enhanced competitiveness.
Career Development with Certificate in Logistics enables participants to gain a “Logistics Skills Mix” which will equip them to apply logistics systems for greater efficiencies in business.
Participants will build competencies in:
Customer Service 3rd Party Logistics Economic Analysis
Communications Problem Solving Distribution
Warehousing Transport Logistics Technology
Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, participants will earn a Certificate in Logistics which enables progression to further and higher qualifications.
Additionally, the programme includes:
- Visits to companies to observe Logistics operations
- Guest speakers from Industry
- Interview techniques and practice
- Help with C.V. preparation and job applications
- 2 extra days per participant for one-on-one mentoring to support job search
- Student membership in the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport
- Networking opportunities through CILT
- Post programme follow-up for ongoing support
Training Schedule
Delivered in an intensive 3 week time frame, Career Development with Certificate in Logistics requires
consistent attendance from each participant. Ability and commitment to attend the full 15 training days will be the primary criteria on which participants are selected for this programme.
